Childhood:
Alistair Raeburn grew up as a child of missionary parents in eastern Siberia. The local shamans took a great interest in the child and inducted him into the shamanistic practices that his parents tried to eradicate. His parents found out and shipped him back to Britain to attend boarding school.

His parents were killed in the fighting in Siberia, and Alistair returned to his studies.
